Personal Life


She was born as an English Actress. Julia Ormond, has risen to prominence because of some memorable roles in many worth remembering films. She became famous because of some critically acclaimed and popular movies like First Knight, The Baby of Macon, Sabrina, Legends of the Fall and quite a few others. She was born on January 4, 1965 and her film career has been quite impressive. She was born in a small town called Epsom, Surrey.

Her father was John Ormond a computer software designer and her mother was Josephine who worked as a laboratory technician. She did her schooling in Guildford High School and then went to Cranleigh School. She had some early stage performances including Guys and Dolls and also the famous My Fair Lady. Her natural talent for acting caught the attention of many critics and thus the first foundation of her film career was laid out.

She got married to Rory Edwards in 1988 whom she met on the sets of the film Wuthering Heights. The marriage did not last long and ended in 1994. She then got married to Jon Rubin, political activist. She gave birth to a child out of this relationship and the baby girl was named Sophie. Sophie was born in the year 2004. As we read this article, Julia Ormond is no longer marked to Jon Rubin.

Apart from her successful film career, she also has been actively engaged in fighting human trafficking. Her passion in this field won her many accolades and on December 2, 2005 she was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador of United Nations. She has travelled widely in this capacity and has put across her point of view in many forums including United States House Of Representatives and more.

Career

She has had a reasonably successful career in movies and she started with her first film in the year 1993 with the movie The Baby Of the Macon. Over a span of 24 years since 1993, Julia has acted in twenty fives movies. Additionally she also has had a successful career as a TV artiste. She made her debut in the small screen in the year 1989 with a sterling performance as Caroline Lithgow in an episode by the name Traffik. Since then there has been no looking back and she must have acted in around 22 episodes and individual small screen shows.

Julia Osmond is a naturally talented actor and therefore she has been able to impress the critics and this has led to her being nominated for a number of awards. She was nominated for the Gemini Awards way back in 1992 in the TV series Miniseries. She also won the ShoWest award and Camerimage awards in 1995 and 2005 respectively as the Female Star Of Tomorrow and also won the prestigious Krzysztof Kieslowski Award.

She won her last award in 2011 and it was the Capri Ensemble Cast Award for her role in My Week with Marilyn. She is quite successful financially too and is supposed to have a net worth of $5 million. Hence, in fine, she has made a mark both in the big and small screens with her stellar performances.
