Also, he covered the Olympic Games in LA and Seoul for BBC. He turned newsreader at TV-am, Eurosport, British Satellite Broadcasting.

In 1992, he moved to Sky as a presenter. In 2003, he won an award as a sports presenter, special edition of The Weakest Link. In 2007, an honorary doctorate of Professional Studies was bestowed upon Stelling by the University of Teesside; a public university in Middlesbrough, England.
