Claire Danes

Claire Danes is a popular American actress. She is also popular as a renowned theatre actor. She has made several appearances in many major films and television series which has earned her the fame and success in her career.


Claire Danes was born in the year 1979 on April 12 in Manhattan, New York. She grew up with her elder brother Asa to her parents. Her parents were Christopher Danes and Carla Danes. Her mother was a printmaking artist and a sculptor and her father was a professional photographer. Both her parents belonged to the artistictic profession and had dated each other for quite a long time before getting married. Her mother had several degrees in the Art and Design field.

Later, her mother could not go out to work as she had to take care of her and her elder brother at home. Her mother worked as a kindergarten teacher which was in their home. She also used to paint and serve as a part time textile designer. Later when they grew up, their mother took up the job of a manager. She initially took her elementary education from the P. S. 3 and PS 11 and after that, went to the Professional Performing Arts School as a junior. Later, she shifted to New York and went to the New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies. When she was in high school, she changed her school to The Dalton School when she moved to California with her parents, where she studied for one year.

Claire Danes started her career when she was in her high school. She imparted a small role in My So-called Life. In the year 1997, she completed her graduation from the Lycée Français de Los Angeles. She took a major in Psychology and studied in the Yale University. After two years, she was dropped out from the university because her grades were too poor. She was starred in the Soul Asylum music video, “Just Like Anyone" in the year 1995. Claire Danes was not seen on the screen for the next few years and in the year 2010, she was casted in the biopic Temple Grandin. She was awarded with Emmy Award for her versatile acting skills.

She has also received the Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe Award for the Outstanding Performance as a Female Actor and Best Actress respectively. She has played major roles in the films To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, Home for the Holidays, The Rainmaker, Me and Orson Welles, I Love You, I Love You Not, Stardust, U Turn, Romeo + Juliet, Little Women, The Family Store, Stage Beauty, The Hours and many more. She also carried on her theatre performances along with this. When it comes to her personal life, she has not been into various relationships and is now engaged to Hugh Dancy since the year 2009. The couple was also blessed with a son. Though there have been many negative news about their relationship, but there is still no news about their divorce or separation.
