Alfonso Cuaron

Alfonso Cuaron had made his mark in the entertainment and movie industry. He is considered to the same level as Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg. He started his career in the year 1983. He is a Latino by nationality and as a director who had been involved into different projects in both Hollywood and the native country of Mexico. His work did include some films such as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Children of Men and Y Tu Mama Tambien. He is now in making of the Roma and Gravity movies. He had got many awards with nominations for the effort he puts into his work.


Alfonso Cuaron is known as cinematographer, editor, screenwriter, a director and a producer. He was the first Latin American who got the Academy award in the Best director category.

Biography

According to his biography, Alfonso Cuaron was born in the Mexico in 1961. While growing up, he had two dreams, to be an astronaut or to be a filmmaker. When the space dream required him to enter first into the military service, he decided to enter into the film industry. He got the first camera at the age of 12. This made him to continue with his obsession in the filmmaking. Alfonso Cuaron was born to Cristina Orozco and to Alfredo Cuaron. He has two brothers Carlos and Alfredo.

Career

He did philosophy at the university of UNAM or National Autonomous University of Mexico and while at school, he was taking the film classes with CUEC, the Centro Universitario de Estudio Cinematograficos. While at school, he collaborated with other director friends and they made the movies Vengeance is Mine and Who’s He Anyway. He got expelled since he was making the movies in the English Language. Afterwards, he decided to work like a technician and then like a director while in Mexico. He had worked with different local productions.

In the year 1991, he directed the first big project which was a sex comedy under the name of Solo Con Tu Pareja. He got the first taste towards the international Limelight when he got a contract from the Warner Brothers as ad director of A Little Princess. After this role, he had other jobs like directing, Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban and then Great Expectations. The next job he had in Hollywood is being the director of Children of Men of 2006. The role led to being nominated for three different academy Awards and for three BAFTA awards.

Married, wife, kids

Alfonso Cuaron had been married for few times. He got married to Mariana Elizondo and they met while at school. They got one child called Juan Cuaron. They were married in 1980 and the divorce came through in 1993. He was a husband for the second time to Annalisa Bugliani and they got two kids before their divorce. The third wife was Sheherazade Goldsmith but they also divorced.
