Vanessa Marcil was in many theatre productions and afterwards she got the role of Brenda Barrett on the soap opera called General Hospital of 1992. Marcil got married to the actor Carmine Giovinazzo in the year 2010 in the private ceremony of New York City. They said in the year 2011 that they are about to get a baby together but she got a miscarriage and her husband asked for a divorce in 2012 saying that the reason of a divorce is because of the irreconcilable differences. The divorce was guaranteed in the year 2013.
