From his biography, Tom Llamas was born in the city of Miami in Florida. His parents are Cuban immigrants and they fled the island because of political reasons. He graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans based on Louisiana. He had been the member of a LA Gamma Chapter for Sigma Phi Epsilon and he got the degree in the Broadcasting Journalism and in Drama and Speech.

He was criticizing the use of Anchor baby by Donald Trump and he got called sleaze when he asked Trump about the money that he had donated to the charity.
Tom Llamas had got many awards including Emmy Awards as the Best Hard News Story, Best Anchor and got a regional Edward R Murrow Award under WNBC-TV after covering the Hurricane Sandy. The first Emmy he got was in 2008 and he was reporting for the first time like a TV Journalist and about interdiction of human smuggling at sea on US Coast guard. He got another Emmy Award in the year 2013, for covering Hurricane Irene.
