Sully Erna’s full name is Salvatore Paul Erna and he is a guitarist and vocalist of American hard rock band called Godsmack. He also plays harmonica, piano and percussion. He plays them on the live shows or in albums. Hit Parader ranked him at 47th position in the list of Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists.

Sully Erna was born in the city of Lawrence in Massachusetts. He started to play drums when he was 3 years old. Salvatore Erna, his father played trumpet and liked to rehearse in their basement. Sully liked to watch him play and he ended up sleeping in empty guitar case. He has a granduncle who was the best composer in the country of Sicily and each year his music is honored while his pictures are found in the museum.
When he was 11 years old, he discovered that it was easy to play on something as he listens to it and not to play while reading sheet music. He did not attend the lessons anymore and choose to practice at his home. He was rehearsing on the records of Alice in Chains, Rush, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.
According to his biography, at 14, Sully Erna started to learn under Dave Vose. He signed the first record deal during the year 1993 and it was with a band known as Strip Mind. Their first album was called What’s In Your Mouth and it sold only 50,000 units. Some of the band members did not get along well with him and they decided to sack him.
Sully Erna has some solo work and he said that going solo was somehow nerve wracking. His first show made him to be too nervous. The show combined the songs from Godsmack and some originals with covers from Alice in Chains and The Beatles. The theme was Love Story.
Sully Erna is a friend to Criss Angel and he participated in many episodes of his TV Show, Criss Angel Mindfreak. He has contributed to Criss Angel’s Discography when he co-wrote and performed the Mindfreak’s New theme song called MF2. He appeared in music video together with Criss Angel and Shannon Larkin, a drummer of Godsmack. Sully Erna featured in the White Trash Circus of Motley Crue and it was released in the year 2009.
He appeared in Dirt TV series of 2007 and he got named to be Woodhaven Pictures’ cast called Army of the Damned. He appeared in the upcoming film named Bleed for this and the producer was Martin Scorsese. He had written a memoir called The Paths We Choose on his birthday in 2007. His parents had also his sister called Maria and a brother called Carlo. He has a daughter called Skylar Brooke Erna but it is not clear if he is a husband of her mother.
