Shemar Franklin Moore was born on April 20, 1970 in Oakland, California. His parents are Marilyn Wilson and Sherrod Moore. He is of mixed ethnicity, his father African American, while his mother is Irish. He also has sibling Sheburra Moore, Shenon Moore, Romeo Moore and Kosheno Moore. In the middle of 70s, his family lived abroad because of racism in the USA. They moved back only in the 1977. He studied at the Gunn High School in Palo Alto.
