Personal Life

Born as a Canadian-American actor, Seth Rogen is a filmmaker and comedian. He was born on April 15, 1982. He started his career by performing as stand-up comedy during his teen years. His native city was Vancouver, but this did not stop him from earning a supporting role in the famous series Freaks and Geeks. His quest for success took him to Los Angeles.

However, his stint as a supporting actor in Freaks and Geeks was not impressive. The show had to be jettisoned because of lack of viewership. However, his natural flair for acting and his ability to do well in comic roles could not go unnoticed for many years. Eventually he got a chance on Sitcom Undeclared. He was also hired as a staff writer by the same entity.

His parents were of Jewish origin and he was born in Vancouver, British Colombia. His mother Sandy was a social worker and his father Mark Rogen worked as an assistant director of the Workmen’s Circle, which was a Jewish Fraternal Organization. This was a non-profit organization.

Since his father was an American, Seth Rogen has an American Citizenship by birth. Ever since his childhood he had a penchant for doing comedy roles and thus began his journey of success. He is married to Lauren Miller who also is an American actress and reasonably successful screenwriter. Seth Rogen married Lauren Miller on October 2, 2011.

Career

His initial days to success were quite tough and difficult. As mentioned above, the cancellation of Freaks and Geeks because of low viewership and lack of viewer interest did not help his career to start off in right earnest. He did not get many auditions. However, he was confident about his capacity as a writer and Apatow soon gave him the much needed break. Apatow was impressed by the natural talent for comedy as far as Seth Rogen was concerned.

Hence in spite of not so impressive initial biography his success journey took off perhaps a bit late. His first big breakthrough came with the production Knocked Up in 2007. Universal Studios gave him this break and since then his success journey has always been quite good. Knocked Up was a big commercial hit and had an excellent 90% approval rating. It also grossed $219 million.

With a career that spans for over 19 years starting from 1998, Seth Rogen has had many numbers of successful movies under his belt. He has acted in around 18 films and the best thing is that his average approval rating for all the above movies has been an impressive 72%. He also has been nominated for a number of awards. His first nomination came way back in 2000 as a Young Artist Award for his work in Freaks And Geeks and he shared the award with his cast.

He also has been nominated from the prestigious Primetime Emmy Award and MTV Movie Award which is no mean achievement. He won the Best Comedy Film Award sponsored by the Denver Film Critics Society Award. He has a net worth of $45 million which is extremely impressive to say the least.
