Samuel David "Sam" Moore was born on the 12 of October, 1935 in Miami, Florida, United States of America. His parents were happy of their son’s birthday. As to the siblings, he seems to have none. Samuel grew up in Florida and attended the local school. During the formative years, he had a dream to become an artist. Therefore, he was practicing music all days long. There is no facts about his further education and job. Definitely, Moore was always connected with sounds.


In 1961, he met Dave Prater, with whom he later created a duo Sam & Dave. After signing to Roulette Records, they became more popular than before.In 1964, they were signed by Jerry Wexler to Atlantic Records and were related to Stax Records who produced, recorded and released their music. There were different singles like “You Don't Know Like I Know”, "”Hold On! I'm Comin”, “You Got Me Hummin”, “When Something Is Wrong with My Baby”, “Soul Man”, and “I Thank You”. In most recordings, they were also backed by Hayes on piano with Booker T and the MGs and The Memphis Horns. For 10 years, Sam & Dave had been giving performances.In 1979, they recorded a new single “Soul Man”.

In 1981, they cooperated for the last time in San Francisco. In 1988, Prater passed away in a car accident that occurred in Sycamore, Georgia.Moore startedto be a single performer and released some songs with Atlantic Records. He also was in the tour with other musicians among which was Wilson Pickett. He got a new manager, called McRae, who is his partner till now. Besides, Samuel founded an association "Artists and Others Against Imposters".

In 1986, Moore recorded "Soul Man" again, this time together with Lou Reed for the movie. It was #30 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1991, Moore recorded several songs on Red, Hot & Blues with Republican Party official and avid bluesman, Lee Atwater. Moreover, he was rewarded by a Pioneer Award by the Rhythm & Blues Foundation for his talent. In the year of 1992, Moore recorded singles with Springsteen for his Human Touch album. He also appeared in some movies as well.

In 2006, his first solo album, “Overnight Sensational”, produced by Randy Jackson, was seen by the world. Due to the persistent work for many years, his net worth is estimated to be $2 million dollars. As to the personal life in his biography, he is a married man. Since 1982, he has been in the relationship with Joyce McRae. His wife is a good support for him, as shehelped him conquer his addiction to drugs once. Though, Samuel is a public person, he does not like the social media. He has no accounts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
