Career

Ralph started his journey to become a singer in his early years at school when he, with other members of the band, was performing in local talent shows. They got the attention of a musician and songwriter named Brooke Payne. He appreciated their talent and gave them a chance to go big. He gave them the name “New Edition” which became their band name and they started their band.

Later they were given a chance by Maurice Starr to record their album in his independent records studio. At that time they had gotten a fifth member of the band who was Payne’s nephew. Their first album was released in 1983 with the name of “Candy Girl”. The album was successful and New Edition got more recognition than ever.

Later they had a dispute with Starr and left him to sign with another studio. They signed with MCA Records and started working on their second album. Ralph eventually decided to go solo and released his first solo album in 1990. The album was a hit and his songs made their way to the top of the list in R&B genre. His songs were also featured in films and he also appeared in some movies too. He is still going strong in his field. The net worth of Ralph is estimated to be 8 Million dollars.
