Nicole Beharie was born on January 3, 1985 in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is of mixed descent, thanks to her parents, her father is from Jamaica, while her mother is from Nigeria. Nicole grew up in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Nigeria and Panama due to her father’s work. She studied at the Orangeburg Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She continued her education in the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities ad graduated it in the 2003. She additionally studied at the famous music school Julliard.
