Monica Wright

Monica Wright was born on 15 July 1998. She was born in Texas in United States of America. Name of Monica’s father is Garry Wright and her mother’s name is Lynette Wright. She also has a sibling whose name is Gerard Wright. Half of her childhood was spend in Texas and rest half was spend in Virginia. She completed her education from Forest Park High School. Later in 2006, she enrolled for a course in a University of Virginia. She had been fond of Basketball since a very young age.

Monica played for her High School Team and she had been really successful since a young age. After joining University of Virginia, she started playing for the University team as well. She won three awards while playing for the college. She was honoured with the award of ACC Defensive Player of the year. She was also lucky enough to be honoured by the National Award of Defensive Player of The year. Just before graduating from the university, she won the WBCA NCAA Division I Award. As per the statistics available, Monica played 133 games and she scored 2540 points in the games she played in the university.

Monica was reported to be selected for 2010 WNBA draft and she was carefully chosen by Minnesota Lynx. Monica’s dedication towards the game payed off as she was able to lead her team to victory in 2011 as well as 2013. Two years later, Monica started played for Seattle Storm. 2015 wasn’t a lucky year for her as she had a knee injury. It took her a while to recover and she reported back t arena in 2016. It took her a little time to come back in form as she was not able to play for almost 8 months.

Talking about her overseas career, Monica played for three different teams between 2010 and 2013. She had to halt her journey for a while because of the injury. It is also known that Monica had been the member of USA Women’s Under 19 team in 2007. She led her team to victory in FIBA World Championship. The game was held in Bratislava in Slovakia.
