Abbey Morgan- the petite blonde with a caustic tongue and a devil may care attitude is not someone who can be missed in the cult teen drama series Dawson's Creek. Although her character was short lived and drawn to a close with a tragic climax, she catapulted to rule the hearts of many who were fans of the widely famed show. The actor who played the much acclaimed Abby Morgan is Monica Keena, an American actress who appeared subsequently in many movies and series, most notably the HBO comedy series Entourage. ‌

PERSONAL LIFE:

Monica Keena is an out and out East coaster, having born and raised in Brooklyn,NYC. She is of Irish-American descent and her parents are Mary and William Keena, the former being a nurse and the latter, a finance manager. She attended the very elite St Ann school for arts in Brooklyn heights. She auditioned and was subsequently accepted to enroll at the very prestigious La Guardia school of acting and starred in many theatre productions throughout her early adult life.

She started her mainstream career by appearing in TV movies and slowly ventured into series, followed by entry into the the big screen. She has stated that she is a very artistically inclined person and has always had a passion for anything involving arts such as drawing, painting, singing and dancing. Keena has also been skateboarding since a very young age

‌Keena's personal life has been marked by a lot of speculation revolving the men she dates. She has been linked with numerous actors including Jonathan Brandis, James DeBello and Shane West. In 2009 she met Edward Furlong in the sets of “Night of the demons” and eventually got romantically involved with him. Their relationship was marred by a lot of domestic abuse complaints against Furlong for which he was placed under arrest three times. Finally in January 2013, he was remanded to police custody as he could not afford to pay bail. A few weeks after the incident, a visibly disheveled Keena was spotted with rapid weight loss which shocked the industry and paparazzi.

CAREER:

Keena debuted as an actress in the year 1996 with the movie Ripe. She considers her performance in this movie as the best till date. This was followed by a lot of TV movies such as First Daughter and A Promise Kept: The Oksana Baiul Story. In 1998, she landed her biggest role till date as Abby Morgan in the teen drama series Dawson’s Creek. Keena has however stated that she opted out of the role as it got too mundane.

Her next big break was when she played the lead role in her first feature film ‘Snow White: A Tale of Terror’. Shehas also starred in the multiple award winning comedy series ‘Entourage’ and played the lead in ‘Undeclared’ as Rachel Lindquist, reprising her role in all 17 episodes. Monica has also played guest roles in various series such as Grey’s Anatomy, Law and Order, etc. Her more recent works include starring in movies such as 50 pills, Aftermath etc.
