Michael Chiarello

Michael Chiarello, a chef and an anchor by profession, came to life on January 26th 1962. He is a Native American and was born in Red Bluff, California, United States. Michael has interest towards food since very young age and his favorite dish while he was a child was Pineapple cake which is upside down. Michael later on did his graduation from ‘Culinary Institute of America’ with majors in culinary skills. He also studied Hospitality from Florida International University and graduated from there in 1984. Immediately after passing out of his graduation, Michael involved himself in cooking activities and became a full time chef.


He started his own restaurant The Grand Bay Hotel and another Bar and Restaurant named Toby's Bar and Grill which became very popular. Michael’s family consists of his wife Eileen and a son named ‘Aidan’ who came to life in 2005. Michael was also married earlier to his first wife and has 3 daughters with his first wife whose name is not very known and he doesn’t like talking about his past relation with his first wife.

According to his biography, Michael started his professional cooking career with the 2 restaurants he opened immediately after his graduation. He became a popular name in US because of these restaurants. Later on he opened another restaurant named ‘The Heritage Restaurant’ in California. The restaurant however was not a success and had to file for bankruptcy. Michael post this failure opened another restaurant named ‘Tra Vigne Restaurant’ and started serving local cuisine in the restaurant. The venture became an instant hit and Michael gained much popularity because of this restaurant. He was called up and worked for many restaurants later on as the chief chef. Michael has also appeared in and hosted various TV shows which are based on cookery. He started his TV career with a show named ‘Season by Season’ on the TV channel PBS.

He worked on many other shows as well for the channel but later on shifted to another TV channel named ‘Food Network’. Michael has been the host to many shows including the popular ‘Michael Chiarello's Napa’, ‘Easy Entertaining’, ‘NapaStyle’ and many others. Michael gained much popularity doing these shows. Michael has also published various cookbooks including the popular ones like ‘Michael Chiarello's Live Fire: 125 Recipes for Cooking Outdoors’, ‘Michael Chiarello's Bottega’, ‘Michael Chiarello’s Casual Cooking’, ‘Flavored Oils and Flavored Vinegars’ and various others. His recipe on Tomato Soup became much popular on internet and garnered many positive reviews and likes on social media and other internet sites.

Michael has also been awarded with various awards and recognitions during his professional career. He was awarded 2 times as the Chef of the year by a magazine named Food and Wine Magazine. He was also awarded chef of the year by the Culinary Institute of America in the year 1995. Michael’s total net worth is close to $1.9 Million and is projected to increase in the future as well considering his continued work as chef and on TV shows based on cooking.
