Mercedes Kilmer was born on October 29, 1991. She is the daughter of famous actor Val Kilmer and actress Joanne Whalley. Her paternal grandparents are her grandmother Gladys and her grandfather Eugene Kilmer. Eugene Kilmer was a distributor of aerospace equipment and a real estate agent. She has paternal uncle Mark. She also has brother named Jack, born on June 6, 1995. They are the only two children of Kilmer couple. Mercedes grew up surrounded by actor parents who influenced her to go by their steps. She is from her paternal side of descendence English, Scots-Irish, French, German, and Cherokee Native American.


Mercedes graduated from a private high school in Los Angeles. She didn't go to college and does not show interest in college.

Her father, who attended Chatsworth High School, where one of his classmates was Kevin Spacey, pushed Mercedes to study.

Val Kilmer could also serve as a role model to her daughter when it comes to higher education. Kilmer was accepted at the prestigious Juilliard School's Drama Division at the age of 17, which made him the youngest person in history to be accepted at Juilliard.

She starred in some short movies, such as: Prettyface (2016), There Is No Gravity (2014), Ingrid (2015) and Poolparty (2013).

All of her roles are minor as opposed to her father's roles. Val Kilmer starred in an enormous number of acting roles.

Just like his daughter, Kilmer didn't receive many offers to act. His big breakthrough was when he took a part in a spoof movie on spy movies entitled Top Secret! (1984).

In this movie set in the time of WWII Val Kilmer plays an American rock'n'roll singer who becomes involved the Resistance movement in order to save a scientist captured and imprisoned in East Germany.

He played a role in the cult film Top Gun (1986) as a naval aviator „Iceman“ alongside Tom Cruise.

He appeared in the television films The Murders in the Rue Morgue (1986) and in The Man Who Broke 1,000 Chains (1987).

After these television film roles, he starred in fantasy film Willow (1988). At the set of this movie he met his future wife Joanne Whalley. The couple got eventually married in 1988 and went under divorce in 1996.

In 1991 he starred in The Doors (1991), a film about the famous band of the same name as the film.

During the early 1990s, Mercedes' father starred in thriller Thunderheart (1992), comedy The Real McCoy (1993).

He played Elvis in True Romance (1993) directed by Top Gun director Tony Scott.

Val Kilmer is most famous for his roles in the Batman movies. He played the part of Batman/Bruce Wayne in the 1995 Batman film - Batman Returns.

After Batman Returns, he also starred in Batman & Robin (1997).

Mercedes' aspiration is to have an abundant career just as her father has.

Personal life

Little is known about Mercedes' life. She lives in her apartment in Los Angeles and visits her father and mother equally.
