Personal life
Born on 15th June 1981 in Chicago, Marie Harf is the daughter of James E. Harf and Jane Ax Harf. Marie is a white American who has served in the U.S. State Department. Marie’s father served as the director of Center at Maryville University for Global Education. He was also an associate vice president of the same. Besides these, he was also a professor of political science at the world famous Ohio State University, Columbus.
As for Marie’s mother Jane Ax, she is the director of an organization called the University Clean Energy Alliance which corroborates research on clean energy and is based in Ohio State University. Needless to say, Marie had a pretty smooth life growing up which saw financial stability to its fullest.
Marie Harf, a bright scholar herself, completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Indiana University Bloomington. She went on to complete her master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Foreign Affairs, something which Marie could relate to very well. Throwing some light on Marie’s love life, she got married to Joshua Paul Lucas, a law graduate and alumni of Yale University. The wedding took place on 14th April 2012. Career
As her biography suggests, Marie Harf started her career at CIA’s Directorate of Intelligence branch as an analyst. During this period, Marie was entrusted with analyzing the leadership issues in Middle Eastern countries. Thanks to her caliber and expertise in this field, Marie was promoted to the post of a media spokesperson in no time. It was Marie Harf who delineated the then President of U.S.A. Barack Obama’s communication and national security strategy when he was running the Presidential elections in 2012. Eventually, Marie was appointed in the Department of State as the Deputy Spokesperson wherein she served under the director of the White House Communications named Jen Psaki.
Marie Harf has also witnessed the harsh realities of life in her political career. She got replaced by John Kirby as the Spokesperson who was a former US Navy Rear Admiral. The news did many rounds among the American citizens and the people had mixed views to express. After getting defeated by John Kirby for the post of the Department of State, Marie again suffered a loss against him now for the post of the Department of Defense. These two consecutive defeats provided the fuel that Marie needed for her upcoming challenges.
On May 13th, 2015, Marie got to serve as an Acting Spokesperson. The following month, Marie began serving for the Strategic Communications to Secretary of State as a Senior Advisor. After establishing herself in this field, Marie became a political commentator and started appearing on the Fox News Channel.
