Kelly Preston was born as Kelly Kamalelehua Smith on October 13, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii. When Kelly was just three years old, her father tragically died, and she stayed with her mother together. Her mother worker as administrator of a medical center at that time she had almost no free time to share it with her daughter. Some time later, her mother found her next husband – a personnel director Peter Palzis. After that, he adopted Kelly and they built a strong family.

During her childhood, Kelly moved many times. She has lived for a while in Iraq and then moved to Australia. In Australia, she entered to Pembroke School in Adelaide. She was very interested in film industry and dreamed to become an actress. When she was 16 years old, she was noticed by some photographer, who offered her to participate in the film The Blue Lagoon. That became her first role in life. That changed her view on her future and she strongly decided to become a professional actress. To be more unique, she changed her last name from Smith to Preston.
After she came back to US, she enrolled to Punahou School. She also attended theater classes in University of Southern California. Kelly Preston started her acting career since 1980 with her role of Wendy in one episode of TV series Hawaii Five-O.
From 1980 to 1983 she played episodic roles in TV series Capitol (1982), Lone Star (1983), Quincy, M.E. (1983), The Renegades (1983) and CHiPs (1983). Then she received her first regular role in TV series For Love and Honor. She played there Mary Lee and coped with it very well. In the same year she got her first role in film. It was a thriller film 10 to Midnight, and Kelly’s character there was Doreen.
The 90s for Kelly Preston were quite intense. She participated in many movies and TV series, including: Tales from the Crypt (1990), The Perfect Bride (1991), Run (1991), Only You (1992), The American Clock (1993), Double Cross (1994), Love Is a Gun (1994), Cheyenne Warrior (1994), Mrs. Munck (1995), Waiting to Exhale (1995), Little Surprises (1996), Citizen Ruth (1996), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), For Love of the Game (1999) and others.
In 2000 Kelly played the role of Chirk in a science fiction film Battlefield Earth. In 2009 she played in a comedy film Old Dogs with John Travolta and Robin Williams in main roles. By that time, Kelly and John have already been married. John Travolta became her husband in 1991 and they are still married without any plans about a divorce.
Kelly has always wanted to have a baby, and on April 13, 1992 she gave a birth to her first baby – her son Jett. Unfortunately he died in 2009. After Jett, Kelly gave a birth to two more children (Ella Bleu and Benjamin). Being pregnant, Kelly always struggled with Weight loss. She succeeded with it, and now she looks fabulous.
