Personal Life

Keira Knightley was born on 26th March in the year 1985. Her nationality is British. She was born in the heart of the country, London. Her parents Will Knightley and Sharman McDonald are both actors, although the latter turned into a playwright in her later years. She has an elder brother Caleb Knightley who is a film composer.

Basically, all her family members are into the Hollywood industry. While her father was born in England, her mother’s place of birth is Scotland. Born into a family of actors, Keira showed keen interest in acting from the age of three and she bagged her first television role as “Little Girl” in the year 1993, when she was just seven years of age.

For most people, Keira took birth with a silver spoon in her mouth but one shouldn’t overlook the grit and determination that she had in her early years. Keira unfortunately discovered severe reading and writing difficulties at a very early age but with the incredible support of her family she was able to overcome it. She further went on to attend Esher College where she graduated with a degree in history, art and literature.

Career

Soon after getting an agent at a mere age of six, Keira started working in small television roles and commercials. Her first multi-scene act was in ‘A Village Affair’, which was a modification of the lesbian love story and was released in 1995. Following her first role, she was given small parts in the crime series ‘The Bill’, a German princess in ‘The Treasure Seekers’ and that of a young ‘Judith Dunbar’ in the movie ‘Coming Home’. Keira gained a lot of attention when it was revealed that she played the role of “Padme” in Star Wars (1999).

Keira Knightley played the daughter of Robin Hood in the film ‘Princess of Thieves’, which was her first major role. Her determination towards her work is evident by the fact that she practiced archery, horse riding and fencing for several weeks before signing for the film. During this time she was offered to act in one more movie titled ‘The Hole’, which she accepted at the age of fifteen. In the year 2002, Keira did a totally different role which was that of a drug addict in the drama film ‘Pure’.

Keira Knightley has had a flourishing career in acting, which is why she has a net worth of $50 million. Surprisingly, Keira is not active on any social media. She once made an account on twitter which lasted only about 12 hours before she took it down.
