Keenen Ivory Wayans was born on June 8, 1958 in New York City. His parents were Howell Stouten Wayans, Elvira Alethia Green. He also has nine siblings including Damon Sr., Marlon, Shawn, Kim, Elvira, and Nadia Wayans. He was raised in a family of the Jehovah's Witness in Manhattan's Fulton housing projects. After school, he studied at the Tuskegee University on an engineering scholarship. Keenen was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He didn’t graduated.

He decided to became a comedian and actor. Along with his friend Robert Townsend, he learned about the comedy business. In the 1980 he decided to move in Los Angeles, California. There he got a regular role on a television series "For Love and Honor", where he played a soldier.

In the 2000 he appeared in the popular film project “Scary Movie”. He played Mr. Stache in the 2009 movie “Dance Flick”. In the 2013 he performed Tony in the movie “Happily Divorced”. He appeared again in the “Last Comic Standing” as a judge. Additionally he tried himself as a producer and did a lot of work. He served as a producer for such projects like “White Chicks ”, “Little Man”, “Dance Flick ”, “Most Wanted” and “Eddie Murphy Raw”. He also launched his own show titled “The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show”. He hosted it during 1996-1997.
“In Living Color” was the most successful project of him, even being one of the first in his long career on television. He played a lot of funny charactes like Ice man or Tom Brothers. He is a bright representative of his family, having a good sense of humor to him as his brothers are very lucky in show business. He worked with such famous comedians as Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock.
