Personal life
Keanu Reeves was born in the year 1964 on September 2nd in Beirut. He was the son of an English designer and an American man named as Patricia and Samuel Nowlin Reeves. He was brought up in a Chinese background as his father belonged to a Chinese nationality. Reeves had to face much hurdles in his life when his father was arrested from the Hawaii airport.
He went through a lot of trauma at the age of only three years old. However, he was no more in contact with his father, after he was thirteen. He moved to the Kauai island with his mother and stepfather. He had to adjust and live with various stepfathers. Reeves spent most of his lifetime years in the New York City and in Sydney.
When he moved to New York with his mother and his mother started working there as a costume designer, she married Paul Aaron who was a director. She did not stay with him for long and when he was only fifteen years old, she got divorced with her husband. However, Reeves was in good terms with his father who gave him the chance to work as an assistant in one of the renowned production house. Reeves did not stay with his mother all these years and went to his grandmother’s house to stay with his siblings.
Due to the various marriages and relationships of his mother, Reeves education was highly affected. He had to change several high schools. He was very good in sports and was a very talented hockey player. As he started his career as an actor much earlier, he could not pay much attention to his studies. He holds a diploma from the Avondale Secondary Alternative School. ‘Reeves’ was in a relationship for some months with his girlfriend Jennifer Syme, who passed away in a car accident.
Career
Reeves began his career in the theatre houses at the age of nine. He had amazing acting talents and when he was only fifteen years old, he did the role of Mercuito in Romeo and Juliet. He made his first debut as an actor in one of the episodes of Hangin’ in. He appeared in several commercial films during the initial stage of his career. Soon, he gained much popularity as an actor. He did many teen films back to back as a lead actor which helped him to get a lot of popularity especially from the teenagers.
He did not limit himself to the teen roles for long and also did many other films. He appeared in many films like My Own Private Idaho, Bram Stocker’s Dracula and many others. Among them, the film Point Break fetched him the award of the Most Desirable Male in the year 1992. He also has a very handsome net worth, which can be traced from his acting career.
