Gene Simmons is a famous singer/musician, actor, and publisher. He is the co-founder of the hard rock band, Kiss with Paul Stanley. He also starred in A&E reality show “Gene Simmons Family Jewel”. He is a science fiction and comics fan and that's why he found the Simmons Publishing, which publishes books and magazines. Simmons was born as Chaim Witz in Israel in 1949 and holds the nationality of both Israel and America. He spent his childhood in Tirat Carmel and raised in Jewish culture. When his parents’ marriage broke, he migrated to the US with his mother at age eight. He then changed his name to Eugene Klein adopting his mother’s maiden name. He often left to the care of babysitters and as a result, he learned and became fluent in Turkish, Hungarian, Hebrew and Spanish.

Before getting married, Gene has a lot of girlfriends, like Diana Ross, Cher, Tracy Tweed etc. Simmons lives with his wife, Canadian former Playboy Playmate and actress, Shannon Lee Tweed in Los Angeles, California. Simmons worked as an assistant for an editor at Vogue magazine. He worked as a sixth-grade instructor, for a few months. His musical career began when he transferred to a public school. Inspired by a legendary band, The Beatles, he developed his interest and decided to be a rock star at a young age. During his middle school, he created a band called Lynx with his friends to attract girls and later, won a school competition. This led to more band opportunity for Simmons.

In 1970, Simmons was introduced to Paul Stanley who shared dreams of forming a band. They later founded the famous band KISS together with Criss (as a drummer) and Ace Frehley (as a lead guitar player). They adopted comic book style theme with Simmons as “The Demon”. The group played their first concert on January 30, 1973, at the Popcorn Club in Queens, New York. The band released the self-titled album which went gold in the US. Then followed with Hotter than Hell and Dress to Kill. KISS has released over twenty-five gold-certified albums and was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording in Hollywood, California.
