Evan Rachel Wood was born in the year 1987 on September 7. She spent her early childhood years in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has received a Christian upbringing from her parents Ira David Wood III and Sara Lynn Moore. She aspired to become an actress from her early childhood as her mother was also an actress. Her mother was also an acting coach and director while her father worked as a theatre director, singer, playwriter and actor.
He also holds the position of a local regional manager at the Theatre in the Park. She had acting in her genes and was very much fascinated by her parent’s career. She started taking interest in the theatres from a very early age. She used to go to the theatres every time with her parents and also started appearing on the stage from a very early age. In the comedy theatre show, A Christmas Carol, she was starred in the year 1987.
She was just a few months old when she appeared in the show. She was also seen in several shows with her mother such as in Helen Keller and Ghost of Christmas Past. As a child actor, she has worked in most of the shows under the direction of her father. In the year 1996, when her parents got divorced she had to shift to Los Angeles County, California with her mother. She received her elementary education from the Cary Elementary School in North Carolina. After that, she suffered from an emotional crisis and could not carry on her official schooling. She was schooled at home and at the age of 15 only, she completed her high school diploma.
Her professional career as an actress began in the year 1998. She was offered a major role in the film Digging to China. She performed so well that it fetched her the Children’s Jury Award. After this, she appeared in a low budget film Practical Magic. She made many major appearances in the films like Thirteen, Little Secrets, CSI : Crime Scene Investigation,The Upside of Anger, Down in the Valley, King of California, Battle of Terra, Across the Universe, The Life Before Her Eyes, Whatever Works, Romeo and Juliet, The Conspirator, The Ideas of March, Charlie Countryman, Mildred Pierce, The Wrestler and many more. These appearances in the popular films has fetched her the nominations and awards for several categories.
Apart from this, she has also made a career in the musical industry through her popular recordings. She has also made a number of guest appearances on various talk shows. She is also an active social worker and is also engaged with some of the NGOs and charitable institutions. She has also made a video for the Human Rights Campaign in the year 2016.
