Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres was born in the year 1958 and she is a producer, writer, actress, television host of American nationality. She is well known for the role in Ellen sitcom which started in 1994 up to 1998. She had hosted different syndicated TV talk show from 2003. She had stand up career from 1980s and it included appearance in The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As an actress, she was in Mr Wrong and The Love Letter. In Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, she was a voice of Dory and of Nemo. She got Saturn Award in Best Supporting actress category. This is the first time that someone had won Saturn awards because of her voice performance. She was the judge for American Idol for its Ninth season.

Ellen DeGeneres has been in two different sitcoms, the Ellen and the Ellen Show. She agreed that she is a lesbian at The Oprah Winfrey Show. The character on the show also came out during the session to the therapist that was being played by Winfrey. The series turned and started to explore different issues about LGBT mostly about coming out. She became the first lesbian who played a lesbian character on the television. She got married to a girlfriend called Porta de Rossi; they have stayed together for a long period.

Ellen was the host of the Grammy Awards, Academy Awards and for Primetime Emmys. She is an author of four books and has her recording company called Eleveneleven. She has a lifestyle brand called ED by Ellen. She has won up to 30 Emmys and 20 People’s choice Awards. She got Presidential Medal of Freedom among other awards and honors.

From her biography, Ellen DeGeneres was born and also raised in the city of Metairie in Louisiana. She is a daughter to Betty DeGeneres who was a speech therapist and of Elliott DeGeneres who was working as insurance agent. She was born with a brother called Vance. He is a producer and a musician. She has Irish, German, English and French ancestry. She was a Christian Scientist up to the age of 13. When her parents divorced, she went to live with her mother and her new husband.

Ellen DeGeneres graduated in Atlanta High School and completed the first year at High school of Grace King High School. She attended the University of New Orleans and this is where she did communication studies. After one semester, she decided to leave the schools so that she can work as clerical career, in the law firm together with a cousin. The job involved to work under J.C Penney. She was also the waitress at T.G.I Friday.

In her personal life, her mother, said that she was first shocked to hear that her daughter is a lesbian but now she had come to terms with it. She is available on different social media and her net worth is 360 million dollars.
