Food has always fascinated each one of us, if you are lover of good food and things associated with it. When we talk about successful American chefs there is no doubt that the name of Eddie Huang comes to the mind. He is a famous producer, attorney, restaurateur, food personality and much more. Apart from being a famous chef, he also owns a famous restaurant by the name East BaoHaus situated in East Village of Manhattan. It is a famous Gua-Bao restaurant. He also has written his biography Fresh Off The Boat: A Memoir and it was so well received that it soon became a TV serial.


Early Life

Eddie Huang was born in Washington D.C. His father was Louis Huang and his mother was Jessica. They were basically immigrants from Taiwan and they belonged to the Waishengren Community of Taiwan. Eddie was raised and spent his early childhood in Silver Spring, Maryland. This is a suburb of Washington D.C.

He soon moved to Orlando, Florida and his father was given the job of managing a chain of seafood and steak restaurants, which he did very well. He was a big lover of African-American culture and was a big fan of hip-hop. He got arrested twice because he always got into fights. He graduated with a B.A from Rollins in 2004. He was good in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and was good at writing pieces of humor and also was a strong advocate for the rights of the minority community.

Personal Life

Talking about his personal life, it would be pertinent to mention here that he perhaps has not married yet. However, there are reasons to believe that Eddie Huang has been into a relationship at least once. In fact, he might have been engaged too with a girl. The name of the girl was Dena and this fact came to light much later. They got engaged in 2013 but their wedding was called off because of some reason. As of now, he lives with his roommate Julie Schott. They could well be lovers given the fact that Eddie Huang has posted many pictures of both of them together.

Career

Talking about the career of Eddie Huang, there are many facets to it. He started his career as an attorney in Corporate Law in New York City. He then became a co-designer and had his own street wear by the name Hoodman Clothing. This happened during the period 2006 to 2009. It was his father who inspired Eddie Huang to become a famous chef and a food specialist. Apart from being a fantastic chef he also has penned many books including the famous Fresh Off The Boat: A Memoir. This book was bought by ABC and was converted into a television series. He also wrote another book by the name Double Cup Love: On the Trail of Family, Food and Broken Hearts in China.

Net Worth

The net worth of Eddie Huang must be around $2 million and he has been able to accumulate this wealth through his multiple sources of income. Being young in age there is no doubt that it will continue to show an upward movement in the years to come.
