Desmond Howard was born in the 1970 and he played in National Football League or NFL. He is known to be a return specialist while he also played as wide receiver. He is now a football college analyst at ESPN. While at University of Michigan, he played football since 1989 until 1991.


He got a Heisman Trophy in the year 1991 and he was playing professional football in National Football league at Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders. He was voted as The Most Valuable Player at Super Bowl XXXI when they played against New England Patriots. He is the only and first player on special teams that won an award.

He is among the four players who were able to win Super Bowl MVP and Heisman Trophy, others are Marcus Allen, Jim Plunkett and Roger Staubach. Howard was ranked to be at the Ninth position as a return specialist in the NFL history by the NFL Network. He was inducted in 2011 class for College Football Hall of Fame.

According to his biography, Desmond Howard started his career in high school at Cleveland in Ohio where he earned All-Ohio and All-American honors. He was a tailback in the senior season of St Joseph High school of Cleveland in Ohio. He scored 18 touchdowns and had a record-breaking of 5,392 rushing yards with 10 interceptions at the defense. He got three varsity letters and each was on football and track and for basketball.

During the college career on University of Michigan, Howard tied or set five NCAA and had 12 Michigan Records. He was also the leader in Big Ten Conference when he scored 138 points in the 1991 season and won Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award and Heisman Trophy.

He earned a bachelor degree in communication during the year 1992, he got inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame and he got honored at inaugural Michigan Football Legend. It is a program which honors old players and it is the same as retired jersey number. Every Michigan player who was to wear the No 21 Jersey was also wearing a patch that recognizes Howard and then had a dress on the locker that bears plaque which has his name and the time he had his tenure in Michigan.

When Desmond Howard came in Michigan he was a tailback and at the beginning, he had a hard time to get playing time. He got to meet with a Michigan Counselor called Greg Harden. He helped him to get back his confidence and he achieved the success both off and on the field.

Desmond Howard is married and her spouse is Rebkah Howard. They have three children. Rebkah is also a success on her own since she is licensed as attorney and had worked as event manager and in public relationship and marketing executive. His net worth is 14 million dollars.
