Damon Dash was born on May 3, 1971, in New York City, United States. He is also known as Dame Dash, and he is an American entrepreneur, executive producer, screenwriter, actor, and music producer. Hos current age is 45 years.
As a young boy, Damon Dash swept the floor of a New York barbershop and sold newspapers, and he used the money to buy his shirts as sneakers. In time, he learned his work ethic from his mother, who died from asthma when he was only 15.

Early career
Damon Dash officially started in the music industry in the 90’s when he produced the first album of the rap group Original Flavor. One of Original Flavor’s members, Tone Hooker, became a staff member of the record label Dash would create years later.
Professional career
Dash is the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records on 1996 alongside Kareem Burke and Shawn Carter, otherwise known as rapper Jay-Z. The record label has worked with Jay-Z, Kanye West, DJ Clue, and Jadakiss, amongst others.
Roc-A-Fella started as an independent music house for Jay-Z, while Dash served as the manager and business partner of the rapper. In 1999 he organized a tour for Shawn Carter which made about $19 million.
The relationship between the two entrepreneurs started to fall apart when Def Jam Recordings bought the record label on 2004. Jay-Z agreed to become Def Jam’s president, and officially became the head of Roc-A-Fella. In late 2005 Jay-Z bought Dash’s stake in Rocawear, an American clothe retailer based in New York.
Jay-Z has admitted the relationship started to fall apart after Dash brought controversial singer Cam’ron’s to the label without Shawn’s approval. The latest business venture by Damon Dash is his involvement with Blind Debit, an up and coming application that will allow fingerprint payment.
Personal life
Damon Dash was married to Rachel Irene Roy, a successful fashion designer born in California. Roy meet Dash when she became the creative director of the women’s and children’s departments of Rocawear in the year 2004.
They became husband and wife in September 2005 and divorced on 2009. The couple has two daughters, and after she filed for custody, the court granted Roy and her daughters a three-year restraining order against Dash. Previously he was engaged with R&B singer Aaliyah. She was only 22 when she died in a plane crash on the 25th day of August 2001.
He also has a son named Damon Dash II, known as Boogie. Her mother is Linda Williams, Long Island nursing student who also issued a restraining order against Dash because of excessive harassing emails. Damon Dash has a net worth of $2 million.
