Claudia Lee Black, popularly known as Claudia Black, was born to Jules and Judy Black on October 11, 1972, in Sydney, Australia. She was raised in Sydney and did her education at Anglican Kambala School. She has spent most of her lifetime in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. She is Jewish by faith.

Career

Claudia has acted for Australian and New Zealand television and movies. She played an intersex woman named 'Jill Mayhew' in the Australian television series 'Good Guys Bad Guys.' She also played the lead in the New Zealand opera soap 'City Life,' portraying a Greek lawyer named 'Angela Kostapas.' Claudia Black gained international acclamation and recognition for her role in 'Farscape,' for which she was nominated for the Saturn Award in the best actress category twice in 2001 and 2002. Claudia did win the prestigious award later in 2005, at the 31st Annual award ceremony held in Los Angeles for 'Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.' Claudia has done roles in feature films like 'Queen of the Damned' and 'Pitch Black.'
