Anyone following American news, surely must have heard of Betty Liu! Betty W. Liu is a famous journalist, news anchor and author. She was born in Hong Kong. She is presently the news anchor of Bloomberg Television which is the subordinate of Bloomberg L.P.


 

Personal life

Betty W. Liu was brought up in Hong Kong but when she was only three years old, she moved to United States and spent her childhood years in Philadelphia. She was educated from the Central High School and did her graduation in the University of Pennsylvania, achieving a graduate degree in English. First, she got married to Benjamin L. Walter who was an Ohio neurologist but their marriage fell apart within two years. She is now married to a professional news executive of Australia, William! Both knew each other from their visit to Hong Kong. Her twin sons from her ex-husband, lives with her and her present husband in Milburn, New Jersey.

 

Career

Liv started her working career in the field of financial journalism with Dow Jones Newswires as a correspondent in regional matters of Hong Kong and most young chief of Taiwan Bureau. She resigned from Dow Jones to join the Financial Times as the chief of Atlanta Bureau. Her career graph was continuously going up as she started her breaking stories of the corporate world such as Bob Nardelli, the ex-Home Depot CEO along with the ex-chief executive of Coca-Cola, Douglas Daft. She has also taken interviews of many famous personalities in her career like Ted Turner, Carlos Slim, Warren Buffet and many others in her TV shows. In Asia, Liu joined as a CNBC Asian anchor and concentrated on the daily life performances of common people in the region of Greater China.

Betty Liu received her first Dow Jones Newswires Award in 1997 for her excellent coverage of Asian financial crisis. After that, she was marked in the Top 30 business journalists for three years and in 2011, she became the first female and Asian student to be inducted in Central High School's Alumini Hall of Fame. Presently, she works for Bloomberg Television where she formerly anchored the show “In the Loop with Betty Liu” till 2015 and often appears during mid-day hours. She wrote a lot of financial reviews and has left a glimpse of them in the books written by her in her career life The Wall Street Journal and Far Eastern Economic Review.

She also has a keen interest in learning and is fluent in English, Chinese and Cantonese. She was always a beautiful woman but there were several rumours about her, dating several boyfriends. She has a really impressive net worth, but the actual numbers are not made public! She has never been fired from any of the company she has worked for in her career life. She has always led a life full of dignity and has earned a lot of respect in her career and is still as famous as she was, for her outstanding reputation in the journalism industry.
