Bebe Neuwirth full name is Beatrice Bebe Neuwrith. She was born in the year 1958 and she is dancer, singer and actress of American citizenship. While on television, she was playing as Lilith Sternin the wife of Frasier Crane. She was also in Cheers and in its spin-off called Frasier. The role got her two Emmy Awards. Playing on the stage, she played Nickie in Sweet Charity and she was Velma Kelly in Chicago Revival. Other musical roles do include Morticai Addams for The Addams Family. In CBS drama named Madam Secretary she was Nadine Tolliver.


Bebe Neuwirth was born in the city of Newark in New Jersey. Her mother is Sydney Anne Neuwirth who is a painter and her father is Lee Paul Neuwirth, who is a mathematician. She was born with an older brother called Peter who works as actuary. The family is Jewish.

After finishing education from Princeton High School in the year 1976, she decided to continue with Ballet as her field of concentration since she had already done ballet from the age of five. She went to Julliard School in New York city, while at school, she performed under Princeton Ballet Company for Coppelia, The Nutcracker and Peter and The Wolf. She was also appearing in Community Theater musicals.

She was in the revival of Chicago, a role that led to many awards such as Outer Critics Award, Drama Desk Award and Tony Award in the category of Best Leading Actress for Musical. Afterwards, she returned playing Roxie Hart and then Mama Morton. She was the only person that time, who was able to come back in the same play in different roles.

Bebe Neuwirth appeared in Television and films such as The Faculty, The Big Bounce, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, The Associate, Tadpole, an Extremely Goofy Movie, Liberty Heights, Jumanji, Say Anything, Bugsy, Green Card and Summer of Sam.

In small credits, she had guest appeared in The Adventure of Pete and Pete, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She was herself in Celebrity Jeopardy, Strangers with Candy and Will and Grace. She had a recurring role in Bored to Death and was a cast member for Madam Secretary at CBS. She appeared in Dear Diary for ABC, but the show was not picked.
