Audrey Justine Tautou was born on August 9, 1976 in Beaumont. She has grown up in Montlucon. Her parents are Eveline and Bernard Tautou. Her mother is a teacher, while her father is a dental surgeon. After school, she continued her education at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She has been interested in acting since her early years. She appeared on television, when she was 18 years old.


Her professional acting career started in the 1998, when she participated at the The Young Debuts competition on the Canal+ station. In the same year she also was honored with the title of the Best Young Actress at the ninth Béziers Festival of Young Actors. The next year she appeared in the film “Venus Beauty Institute” which was directed by Tonie Marshall. Later she played in several short movies like “Triste à mourir” and “Épouse-moi”. In the next year she appeared in such projects like “Happenstance” and “Le Libertin”. In the 2001 she got her breakthrough role of Amelie in the romantic movie “The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain”.

In the next year she appeared in the thriller film “Dirty Pretty Things ”, which was produced by BBC Films. Later this movie won a British Independent Film Award for "Best Independent British Film". In the 2004 she played in the romantic war movie, which was titled “A Very Long Engagement”. This film was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet as well as her previous story about Amelie.

In the 2005, she tried herself with a Hollywood production movie “The Da Vinci Code”. It was her first project In America. She played the role of Sophie Neveu along with famous actor Tom Hanks. Another successful role was in the romantic film “Priceless” (Hors de prix) in the 2006. She was involved with a project titled “Coco avant Chanel”, about famous fashion designer Coco Chanel.

Later this movie was nominated for BAFTA Awards, three European Film Awards as well as the Academy Award for Best Costume Design. Her another romantic comedy-drama project was “Delicacy”, which was released in the 2011. She also appeared in the Charlie Winston’s music video of "I Love Your Smile". The last her appearances were in the movies like “Open at Night”, “The Odyssey” and “Going Places”.

Her career as a model as well successful as her acting career. She served as a model for such popular companies like Chanel, Montblanc and L'Oréal. Audrey appeared on the major fashion week events all over the world. She modeled for modeled for magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Marie.

As for her personal life, she is not married woman. Previously, she dated with famous Franch singer Matthieu Chedid. Audrey is a very private person and does not expose her relationship, regarding her boyfriend, husband and so on.
