Anthony LaPaglia

Anthony LaPaglia is a popular actor and producer of the film industry. He is an award winning actor and has also contributed a lot through his acting.

Anthony LaPaglia was born in the year 1959 on January 31st in Adelaide. He was the middle son of his parents Gedio LaPagila and Maria Johannes. He spent most of his early childhood years in South Australia with his family. His family belonged from the working class society as his father worked as a car mechanic and dealer and his mother belonged from the glamour industry and was a renowned model. She also worked as a secretary of a famous company. He belonged to a Dutch family background as his mother had a Dutch cultural heritage and his father belonged from an Italian descent.

Anthony also learned the mechanical work of vehicles from his father with his brothers. He also helped his father in the work and as he grew up, he also did some part time jobs as a mechanic. He was also a very good student and went to the Norwood High School. He also showed much interest towards the cultural events of his school but as his parents could not afford the expense, he did not join any of the classes. He went to the Rostrevor College after finishing his education as he has received a scholarship from his high school.

While in the university, he also did some part time jobs as salesman. After completing his high school education, he went to the popular drama school Sydney Drama School NIDA. He also worked in the Florsheim Shoes along with his education as a salesman. After getting scholarships, he went to the South Australian Castings Agency to continue with his further acting course. During this time, he also appeared in the theatre stage which earned him some fame. Later, he went to Los Angeles from Adelaide to try better career opportunities.

Anthony LaPaglia began his career in the year 1985 with the television series known as Steven Spienberg’s Amazing Stories. Though he was given only a small role in the whole series, it meant much to him. He appeared in his first film, Cold Steel in the year 1987. He imparted his role so effectively in the film that it easily fetched him a major role in the film Nitti: The Enforcer. Next, he made a small appearance in the film Betsy’s Wedding.

He also appeared in several films like The Client, Looking for Alibrandi, Lend Me a Tenor, Innocent Blood, Analyze That, Cold Steel, The Sopranos, Frasier, A View From the Bridge, Without a Trace, Balibo, Summer of Sam, Americana, Lantana, Django Unchained, A Good Marriage, Holding the Man and many more. First, he got married to Cherie Michan and after their split, he married Gia Carides in the year 1998. The couple was blessed with a daughter in the year 2003 but leading to some kind of differences, the couple got divorced in the year 2015.
