Alicia Witt

Alicia was born Alicia Roanne Witt on Aug21, 1975 at Worcester, Massachusetts of the United States. Her mother Diane worked as a teacher of reading at a junior high school and her father Robert Witt was a photographer and a teacher of science too. She has a brother named Ian. Alicia has her ancestors from Irish, French-Canadian, Italian, English and Polish. Alicia was a gifted child who started to talk at the age of two and read at the age of four. Her calibre was recognized by David Lynch in 1980 when he heard Alicia recite Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet on a T.V program at the age of five. It was Lynch who introduced Alicia as a child artist in his movie Dune in 1984 and later presented her in his T.V show Twin Peaks in 1990. She studied piano at the Boston University.

Alicia then acted in several movies in different types of roles. Alicia made her debut on stage in 2001 at the historic Tiffany Theatre of Los Angeles by acting in The Gift by Robbie Fox. In this, she played the role of though diseased a high-cost stripper. While residing in U.K she played a role in The Shape of Things in 2004 at New Ambassadors Theatre. In 2006 she went back to the London stage.While working with Lynch, Alicia also supported her by playing piano at a very young age which portrays her calibre in music. She is an excellent pianist with good skills. Alicia is also a singer and a songwriter. Her songs have wide fan following. She was nominated for Independent Spirit Awards, Screen Actors Guild and Saturn Awards for her roles in Fun, Cybill, and Urban Legend, respectively.
