Ali Germaine Landry, famously known as he Doritos Girl because of her appearance in the advertisement for the famous brand that aired during 1998 Super Bowl Commercial is a former beauty queen and Miss USA title winner. Ali has since appeared in several commercials, ads and TV series during her career. She has also been listed regularly in various “Most desired women” lists.

PERSONAL LIFE:
Ali was born in the year 1973 to Renella Landry and Gene Allen Landry. She is of French decent. Ali attended the Cecilia High School and graduated in 1991. She was in the cheerleading team in school and participated in various cheerleading programs in school. She graduated from the University of South Western Louisiana majoring in mass communication. She first broke into the beauty pageant circuit by participating and winning the Miss Louisiana Teen in 1990. She then participated in Miss Teen USA representing her state. Although she advanced well, she could not win the title.
However, she continued to compete in pageants and won the Miss Louisiana USA in 1996. This led her to represent Louisiana in the Miss USA pageant that year. She won the title of Miss USA 1996. She also represented USA in the Miss Universe competition that same year. However, she was ousted in the judges’ question round. Landry was first married to Mario Lopez, a TV personality she met during co-hosting the Miss teen USA pageant. They were married in a catholic ceremony in Mexico.
However, after two weeks, the beauty queen annulled the marriage citing infidelity issues from Lopez’s side. Two years later, she married Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, a film director. The couple has three children Marcelo Alejandro, Valentin Francesco and Estela Inez. Landry has been trained in jazz, tap and ballet for 15 years. She has a net worth of 6 million dollars and currently lives with her family in Los Angeles.
CAREER:
Post her beauty pageant days, Landry has hosted several beauty shows and modelled and endorsed multiple products. She was a brand ambassador for Doritos and appeared in the Super Bowl commercial in 1998. This made her a household name in the United States. The beautiful model and actress has also appeared in several shows such as Felicity, Sunset Beach, Popular etc., She has also appeared in Beautiful, a feature film.
Landry has also launched her own lifestyle brand Belle Parish. In 2007, Landry made the movie Bella alongside her director husband which opened to a lot of acclaim. The movie was produced by the couple’s business partners: Eduardo Verastegui, Sean Wolfington, Denise Pinckley and Leo Severino. Toronto film festival, the White House and the Smithsonian honored the movie for its contribution to Latino culture.
Monteverde was awarded the "Legacy Award" by The Smithsonian Latino Center .The film won several awards and was also widely praised by the then President George W Bush and wife Laura Bush. As on 2017, she hosts a bilingual show on Yahoo called “Spotlight to Nightlight” where she addresses parenting issues with celebrities.
