Adam Wylde

Adam Wylde was born in 1988. He is a Canadian radio host and he was best known to be the co-host of Kiss 92.5’s Blake and Wylde Show. He had also worked as the entertainment reporter for Breakfast Television.

Upbringing

Adam’s mother is Marilyn Denis, Marilyn is a famous television and radio personality in Canada. She is the host of The Marilyn Denis Show and co-host of CHUM-FM's Roger and Marilyn. Merlyn was born in the city of Edmonton in Alberta in 1958 but she grew up in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received a degree in radio, television and advertising at the University of Idaho.

She started her broadcasting career at the local station at Moscow, Idaho and later returned home to join Calgary’s news force when she worked at CHFM&CJAY-FM. She worked as a sport and entertainment reporter and sometimes she filled in as a weather announcer. Her net worth is 5 million dollars.

Marilyn’s broadcasting career gave Adam a blueprint to follow. He saw the success his mom was having and wanted to replicate her success. He also saw how much fun his mom was having in her work. He couldn’t believe that it was possible to earn a living by just talking to people on the radio so he was determined to end up like his mom.

He did not have both parents since he was raised by her mother as a single parent. His mother said that he was a tumultuous teen and she wanted to give her son enough space so that he can breathe while he was growing up. Being a teen without a father was tough for the young Adam. He did not have someone to turn to when he had questions about being a man. He had identity issues because he couldn’t understand why his father abandoned him. Even though he loved his mom very much, she did not have the capacity to ability to guide him as a young man. Not only was she busy with her work, she had the stress of being a single mother.

Sometimes their relationship ended up in very tough confrontations. Their fights would lead to them not speaking to each other for weeks. Adam would come home from high school and slam the door to avoid speaking to his mom.

Their parents were married but they divorced when Adam was young. Adam still cares for his father and visits him whenever he gets the chance.

In time, Adam was able to control his teenage angst to get his life on track. He attended Humber College where he was able to develop his skills for his future broadcasting career.

Career Start

Before he got his fame, the first job he held was the host of 99.9 Virgin Radio Toronto from 2010 to 2011. Adam Wylde had worked in different capacities for different stations on both radio and television.

He was the Entertainment reporter at Breakfast Television from 2015 to 2018. One of the key moments he had on Breakfast Television was when he interviewed actor, Jay Baruchel. He was the host of Your World this Week at Rogers Cable Channel 1 in 2015. He started to become a part of the Steve Dangle Podcast in 2013. He got his own program called the Blake and Wylde Show at Kiss 92.5 in 2013 but he left in 2018.

Departure from Breakfast Television

After Breakfast Television lost a host named Kevin Frankish, things became uneasy on the morning program. Just one month after Kevin’s exit, Adam also decided to quit on June 26, 2018.

Since he is very active on social media, he decided to announce the news on his Twitter account with a Tweet that said “Hey, kind’ve a big day. Today’s show was my last on Kiss 92.5 and Breakfast Television. I want to thank KiSS management and staff in Toronto and in our syndicated markets across the country. What a great team. The best I have ever been on. I also have to say the same thing about everyone at Breakfast Television, who are just insanely fun and talented people. It has been an outstanding 5.5 years with Rogers Media. This was a decision I made, with a lot of thought. And it wasn’t easy.”

In the full tweet, he added that he would still be host of The Steve Dangle Podcast. He was excited to continue with the podcast and some people speculated that his duties on the podcast took away his passion from Breakfast Television. When it comes to working on multiple projects, people risk being stretched too thin because it is too hard to juggle multiple projects.

Adam did not speak negatively about his departure. He described leaving as a positive moment, “This feels a bit like stepping out of a wickedly fun party to catch your breath. I started on air at 19 in Barrie, left home for Halifax at 20 and haven’t really stopped since. There were goals I set for myself back then and (with a ton of help), I’ve been fortunate enough to achieve them”.

When pondering about his future, he had no concrete details about his next step but he said he was excited to be a free agent. During his free agency, he was happy to enjoy his time with his fiancé and his dogs.

Personal Life

Adam Wylde got engaged to the love of his life in Paris, at Millennium Bridge. His fiancé, Caprice Conners is a fashion enthusiast and also a personal stylist. After the proposal, she joined him on the radio to talk about their relationship. She was so happy and couldn’t wait to share the news with the world and Adam’s fans.

Adam has over hundreds of thousands of followers on his Twitter account. In 2016, he decided to post a photo when he was with his girlfriend and they were celebrating their two year anniversary. His fans really enjoyed the photo because it showed a different personal side of him that they were not used to.
