Yasmin Abdallah

Yasmin Sewell (nee Abdallah) was born in the late 1970s in Sydney, Australia. She grew up in Randwick in a Lebanese-Australian family. There is no information about her parents and siblings as well as about her early years. She was very passionate and serious in her dreams and at the early time she decided to work in fashion. She has made a serious decision at the age of 16, when she left her school. She started her work as a PA for the established Sydney property agency “McGrath”.

When she was 20, she moved to London. She has made this decision because of marriage to the English actor. She had a dream with scant financial backing and without total experience in fashion or retail, but finally she opened her Soho fashion boutique “Yasmin Cho”. In the 2012 she told for an interview for Fairfax Media, that it was a disadvantage being an Australian in London back then. She also added, “It’s funny to remember, because I had a shaved head, as well as an accent and was surrounded by these British ladies. Now I look at my business and career here in London and realize how much it has changed for the last years”. She gave all of herself for her dream, she said “I wasn’t even thinking about sales… I just went for it, and as a result it had a lot of integrity and people loved it”.

Her boutique “Yasmin Cho” was titled by The New York Times as “one of the most influential boutiques in the world”.During her amazing work she used an innovative new faces and key trends, as well as stocking designers such as Gaspard Yurkievich or Rick Owens, and helping to launch their careers during this way. Sewell was chosen by legendary retail maven Joan Burstein in the 2005 to head buying for the ultra-elegant department store, "Browns". In 2008, Yasmin branched out and set up her own consultancy. Her flagship project was the reinvention of the much-loved yet unprofitable British department store Liberty.

Additionally, she is an owner of the sports luxe label, Être Cécile as well as worked as a fashion director of Style.com site.

She was married to Rufus Frederik Sewell, who is mostly known as an actor. They married in the 1999. Their marriage was very short. The couple got to divorce two weeks later. Rufus married again in the 2004 to well known producer and scriptwriter Amy Gardner. Currently, she resides in London. Her total net worth is not disclosed by any source.
