Walter "Clyde" Frazier was born on the 29th of March, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. His parents were happy to welcome their son. As to the siblings, he had eight of them and Walter was the youngest kid in the family. While being a child, he attended Atlanta's David Tobias Howard High School. Moreover, Frazier took part in various school activities. Especially, he was fond of sport, so he was a quarterback on the football team and a catcher on the baseball team.


He was also playing basketball a lot. During the formative years, Walter was still playing different sportive games. Besides, he was proposed many scholarships for his sport achievements. Frazier decided to enter Southern Illinois University. Day by day, he was becoming better and better. Soon he was considered one of the best collegiate basketball players in the country. In 1964, he was given a title of a Division II All-American. The following year, Frazier led SIU to the NCAA Division II Tournament. SIU moved up from Division II to Division I.

In 1967, Walter and SIU became the winners of the National Invitation Tournament at the old Madison Square Garden in New York. The same year, New York Knicks invited Walter to be the part of the team and he accepted it. One year after, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. He was an NBA All-Star seven times, and was named to the All-NBA First Team four times, the All-NBA Second Team twice and the All-Defensive First Team seven times. Thanks to Frazier, the Knicks won the NBA championships in 1970 and 1973.

In 1971, after a new player Monroe appeared, together with Walter they became one of the most effective guard combinations of all time, leading the Knicks to the 1973 NBA championship. After spending 10 years in New York, Frazier ended his career as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In 1980, he announced about his retirement. Currently, Frazier is a commentator for telecasts of Knicks games on the MSG Network. His net worth is estimated to be nearly $4.5 million dollars.
