Natasha Leggero was born on March 26, 1974 in Rockford, Illinois. She is of Italian and Swedish ancestry. At the age of ten, she started her work on stage in Chicago. While she was a teenager she worked at the grocery shop. She studied at the Rockford East High School. Afterwards, she continued her education at the Illinois State University. During that time, she studied abroad in England for two years.

Later she auditioned for the Stella Adler Conservatory, which was located in Chicago. She was accepted into the theater program and later decided to relocate her study to New York City, where she attended the conservatory two years in a row.
