Michael D. Symon was born on September 19, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio. She is of Greek, Italian, and Eastern European descent. He has grown up in North Olmsted, Ohio. He studied at the St. Richard School. She continued at the St. Edward High School in Lakewood. She graduated from school in the 1987. Three years later he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. His first experience was at the Geppetto's Pizza and Ribs on Warren Rd., where he worked as a cook.


Later he worked at “Player's” which is a Mediterranean restaurant in Lakewood on the Cleveland restaurant scene. In the 1993 he becomes a chef and moved to Piccolo Mondo. He got a place at the Caxton Café. In the 1997 he opened his own family restaurant Lola along with his girlfriend Liz. They had several years of success and in the 2000 their project was named one of America's Best Restaurants in “Gourmet” magazine. They decided to entitle their restaurant from Lola to Lolita in the 2005.

The next year he opened his third third restaurant, which was titled “Parea”. In the 2008 he decided to open new restaurant in Detroit, Michigan. “Roast” was another successful project and even was honored with the Restaurant of the Year title by the local Detroit “Free Press”. In the same year he opened “Bar Symon” in Avon Lake, Ohio. He liked a concept of a tavern food so he created another one in Ohio too, and titled it “B Spot”.

Afterwards, in the 2011 he opened B Spot in two different places, in Strongsville as well as in Westlake. His old project “Bar Symon” was closed, so he tried again and brand new “Bar Symon” appeared in Pittsburgh International Airport-Airmall in partnership. On the 2015, he decided to move out of the Midwest zone and opened one restaurant in Austin, Texas. “Symon's Burger” was built near The University of Texas. In the 2016 he opened Mabel's BBQ near his first restaurant Lola.

He also has a brilliant career on television. Michael is a host of the popular culinary show “Melting Pot” and previously worked in “Dinner: Impossible”. He worked a lot for the Food Network. In the 2005 he also appeared in the show “Iron Chef America”. Two years after, he has made his appearance in the "Cleveland, OH".

In addition, he published several books along with Michael Ruhlman, which was titled “The Soul of a Chef: The Journey Toward Perfection”, “Michael Symon's Live to Cook: Recipes and Techniques to Rock Your Kitchen”. In the 2012 he released another one “The Chew: Food. Life. Fun”. The next year he published “The Chew: What's for Dinner”.

He is married to Liz Symon. He also has a stepson Kyle, from the first marriage of Liz. He likes to keep his personal life to himself and stays away from the media as far as possible. His net worth is about 4 million dollars. Currently, he resides along with his wife in Cleveland.
