Michael Bradley

Michael Sheehan Bradley was born on July 31, 1987 in Princeton, New Jersey. His parents were involved in sport too. His father is a former coach of the United States men's national soccer team. He was raised in Palatine, Illinois. As a teenager he played for Sockers FC. Afterwards he joined the United States Under-17 Men's National Team Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida.


Afterwards, he signed a deal with Project-40 MLS. In the age of 16, he became a professional player and entered the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, where he was selected thirty-sixth overall by the MetroStars. At that time he got a foot injury and started his career only in the 2005. In the next year he was sold to the Heerenveen team for $250 thousand and became the youngest MLS player who did that way. He has made his debut on April 16 in the match against AZ team. Soon after that he took a place of a midfielder player. He got his success in the 2008, when he scored the record for the most goals for one season.

In the same year he joined German team Borussia Mönchengladbach, he signed a 4 year contract. He got his first goal for that team in November during the match against Bayern Munich. Afterwards, he completed the loan deal to Aston Villa in the 2011. Soon after that he joined Italian Serie A club Chievo. He left this team after half a year and signed a new contract with Italian team Roma.

On July 25, he scored his first goal for Roma in a club friendly against Liverpool football team at Fenway Park in Boston. Roma sold Bradley to Toronto FC of Major League Soccer for $10 million in the early 2010. He showed his brilliant skills in the match against the Columbus Crew team. It was the time of his success and soon he was named captain prior to the 2015 season.

In the 2016 season Michael helped his team beat Montreal Impact team. Talking about his international career, he begin it in the 2006, during his training camp for World Cup. Since that time, he was established as a key player for U.S. team. He scored his very first goal in an international career in the 2007, during the match against Switzerland’ team. He was a lead player for the American team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. In the 2015 he was named the national team's new permanent captain.

He is a married man. His wife Amanda Barletta is a former University of Rhode Island tennis player. The couple has two children, son named Luca and a daughter Quinn Elle. In fact, he speaks fluent with four foreign languages, including Italian, Dutch, German and Spanish.
