Maria Stephanopoulos

Maria Stephanopoulos works on Good morning America and she had made many adventures when she was working in the drones for the past two years. She had captured Iceland’s volcano and Vietnam’s caves using a DJI. She is a production manager of ABC News and of Good Morning America based in New York. She decided to work with drones since18 months ago while working with GMA related shoot while in Iceland and afterwards, she bought own drone.

She got the idea of using the drones from the senior editorial staff who approached her on the idea of getting the drones taking over the studio for a series under the name of Game of Drones. After seeing the video of Eric Chen when he flew his drone over an active volcano of Iceland, they decided to try this idea. In just two weeks and a half, they were already standing near Bardarbunga Volcano at Arctic Circle. Everything that was included in this project was just extreme. Some of the team had to stay in a cabin in a middle of nowhere and they were using snow vehicles that had massive studded tires with a team experienced in searching and rescuing. They had to hire a meteorologist who was aware of this microclimate and she was staying in touch with her for many times within a day. They were able to catch the volcano live when it was active.

However, the drones are being used in other many ways to catch the story. They are the best tool that allows audience for experience the news at a higher scale and scope that was never been experienced before. Damages that are caused by tornado, flood and hurricane will be clearer when they are being taken in 100 feet over the ground. They are able to convey the messages that are otherwise hard to convey while using only standard ground crews. She came interested in the drones from the first time they used them on the Iceland and she wanted to know more about it by learning the drone limitations and advantages. Since Maria Stephanopoulos is a production manager who work on the section of Live remotes, she has to take into consideration both engineering and technical side of the job. While using the drones, they have to take into consideration locations, clearance, budget and the frame rate convertor before going online.

Even if Maria Stephanopoulos seems to be popular, more information about her biography is not available. It is not easy to know if she is married, has a family, children or chronic illness and her net worth is not disclosed. Maria Stephanopoulos should not be confused with Maria Stephanos who is working at Fox25 News. She was a general assignment reporter and now she is a chief anchor. Her husband is Dale Stephanos, her salary 755,254 dollars.
