Luke Farrell Kirby was born on June 29, 1978 in Hamilton, Ontario. His parents are Americans, who moved to Canada from New York in the 1974. He has been interested in acting since his teenage years. After the high school, he studied drama at the National Theatre School of Canada. He graduated in the 2000. Soon after that he joined the cast of the CBS’ mini-series “Haven”. He also tried himself by working for “Lost and Delirious”. Then he played the role of Morgan in the project “Geometry in Venice”. In the 2002 he appeared in the short video “Halloween: Resurrected”.


The next year he played in both “Mambo Italiano” and “Shattered Glass”. He also appeared as Shane Bradley in the movie “Luck”. In the 2004 he played the role of Callum Tate in the miniseries “Sex Traffic”.

In the 2006 he played Brian in the TV series “Northern Town”.The next year he portrayed Ray Dokes character in the film “All Hat”. He also played Leo in the movie “The Stone Angel”. He was a cast member for “Tell Me You Love Me” television series and appeared in the 8 episodes of the show. In the 2009 he played Nick Steinwald in the television film “Labor Pains”. In the same year he also appeared in the TV series like “Flashpoint”, “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” with a guest role. Since 2009 till 2010 he played Jimmy Burn from “Cra$h & Burn”. In the 2011 he was involved in the movie “Take This Waltz” as a Daniel.

In the 2012 he appeared with a role of Ethan in the movie “Fury” and got an episodic role of Aaron Ward in the popular detective TV series “Elementary”. The next year he played Russel in the film “Empire of Dirt”. He got his breakthrough time with a role of Jon Stern in the TV series “Rectify”. In the 2013 he also played Detective Wolf Landsman in the project “Blue Bloods”.

He was nominated for such prestigious awards like Canadian Comedy Award for Pretty Funny Performance and Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series. According to imdb resource he has made his appearances in more than 45 projects.

He was married to Alison Elliot. The couple tied their married knot in the 2012. Later they got to divorce. His ex wife is an actress too. Luke then began dating fashion designer girlfriend Andrea Sarrubi. The couple dated for a long time and then had a break up. Now he is dating with actress Katie Holmes. Luke has a net worth of 10 million dollars.
