Personal life
Kristen Schaal was born in the year 1978 on January 24th in Colorado. She was brought up in the rural area of the country. She lived there with her parents and her elder brother, David. She had to spend her childhood in poverty as her father was a construction worker and her mother was a secretary. They just managed to earn the livelihood somehow and could not meet their daily comfort. So Schaal and her brother had to go to a local school to take education. But she was a very determined girl. She had a knack for studies and wanted to achieve something in life. She had to go through various hurdles to meet her educational requirements.
Finally, she received a scholarship to study in the Northwestern University. She had to shift to New York to pursue her graduation. When she graduated in the year 2000, she wanted to be a professional comedian. Soon, she got the chance to showcase her talent which fetched her success. In the year 2012, Schaal got married to Rich Blomquist. Her husband is the staff writer of Daily Show. The couple seems to be happy with each other. Career
Kristen Schaal was given the first offer to do a stand-up comedy by the New York magazine in the year 2005. She had participated in the show ‘The Funniest New Yorkers You’ve Never Heard Of’. In the year 2006, she won the award for being the Best Female Stand-up comedian feom thr Nightlife Awards. After this, she participated in several comedy festivals in New York. She also participated in an international comedy festival named as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in the year 2008. In this festival, she won the Barry Award for her television show, ‘Kristen Schaal as You Never Seen Her Before’.
She also participated in theatres with her troupe Improv. Her troupe has also received the award for being the Best Troupe of the Year in 2005. Schaal also made her appearance is several TV shows such as The Secret Policeman’s Ball, The Daily Show and many others. She has also contributed her talents in the New York Film industry. Besides being a great comedian, she is also a very talented actress. Some of her films are Get Him to Greek, Kate and Leopold, Law & Order, Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother and many to count on.
Along with it, she has also shown her magic in the field of music by coordinating in the music series, The Nighttime Clap. Schaal has also published her own book ‘The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex’.
