Kate Hudson is a popular American actress. She is very famous for her good looks and acting skills. She has gained recognitions from her appearance in some of the major films. She has also established herself as a successful model in the industry.


Kate Hudson was born in the year 1979 on April 19. She grew up with her elder brother in Los Angeles, California in the United States. She belonged from the family of actors as her mother, Goldie Hawn was a popular actress and her father, Bill Hudson was also a renowned actor as well as a musician and comedian. She did not get the chance to spend much time with her parents as they got divorced due to some kind of misunderstanding when she was only 18 months old. After getting divorced, her mother moved in with her boyfriend Kurt Russell and she and her elder brother started living with them.

Though Russell was her step-father, she developed a very strong bond with him. As she hardly knew her biological father, she considered Russell as her father. She never even met her biological father but her elder brother used to meet him often. She had four half-siblings, two from her mother’s second marriage and two half-siblings from her biological father’s second marriage.

She has received a Jewish upbringing from childhood though she follows the religion Buddhism like her mother. She have attended the Crossroads school from childhood. After completing her high school education, she went to the New York University. Though her father wanted her to pursue a bachelor's degree but she was encouraged by her mother and wanted to pursue acting.

As she was very beautiful and had versatile acting talents, she got the chance in the acting industry easily. She started her acting career in the year 1998 when she was starred in the comedy drama, Desert Blue and Ricochet River. She appeared in a number of comedy films after that such as Gossip, Cigarettes and many more. The film Almost Famous which was directed by Cameron Crowe, was the turning point in her life. She imparted the role of Penny Lane in the film. She has also secured the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.

After the huge success of this film, she made appearance in a number of romantic comedies such as the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Raising Helen, The Four Feathers, Alex and Emma and more. She was also starred in the thriller movie, The Skeleton Key in the year 2005. She has received a lot of appreciations for her role in the film. She has made appearance in several supporting roles in the films like Good People, Deepwater Horizon, Wish I Was Here and many more.

Coming to her personal life, she got married to Chris Robinson in the year 2000 and was blessed with a son in the year 2004. The couple got divorced soon. In the year 2010, she started dating Matt Bellamy. The couple got engaged and also became the parents of their son in the year 2011. The couple ended their engagement in the year 2014 but they are still on good terms.
