John F. Kennedy

John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States of America. John F. Kennedy was elected on the 20th of January in the year 1961 and continued to hold office until the day of his assassination on the 22nd of November, in the year 1963. John F. Kennedy was commonly known as JFK by the people of the nation and his ardent supporters. The highlight of his presidency was his cabinet’s management of relationships with the Soviet Union, during the peak of the Cold War.


Personal Life

John F. Kennedy was born on the 29th of may, in the year 1917, according to his biography. John F. Kennedy was born in the city of Brookline, situated in the state of Massachusetts, in the country of the United States of America. John F. Kennedy’s parents were Rose Kennedy and Joseph P. Kennedy Sr.

John F. Kennedy had an older brother by the name of Joseph Jr. and he had 7 younger siblings named Ted, jean, Bobby, Patricia, Eunice, Kathleen, Rosemary. John F. Kennedy graduated from the prestigious Harvard University in the year 1940 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts and then went on to join the U.S Naval Reserve in the year 1941.

John F. Kennedy met Jacqueline Lee Bouvier, fondly known as Jackie, while he was just a congressman. It was the journalist by the name of Charles L.Bartlett who had introduced the duo at a party. It was on the 12th of September in the year 1953 that they got married, almost a year after him being elected as a senator. The couple has two children together namely Caroline and John Jr. Jackie suffered a miscarriage in the year 1955, and later a stillbirth the very next year in 1956, the child, a girl, was formally named Arabella. The couple also had another son named Patrick Bouvier Kennedy who died two days after his birth.

US Navy

In 1941, partially with the help of The Office of Naval Intelligence Director, John Kennedy became a part of the US Navy. For a month, he attended Naval reserve officer training school in Chicago. He has received several awards for the duty towards the nation, which include the American Campaign Medal, Purple Heart, Navy and Marine Corps Medal and World War 2 Victory Medal.

Political Career

A lot of importance was given by JFK on foreign policy in the light of the cold war tensions between USA and USSR. The Cuban Missle Crisis was peacefully resolved by his administration. Moreover, US Diplomacy ensured that the Berlin Crisis did not escalate.

JFK was also known to escalate the war in Vietnam He was elected on the 20th of January in the year 1961 and he held office until the day of his assassination on the 22nd of November, in the year 1963. The assassination shocked the American public and was deeply condemned across the country. JFK through his vigorous economic and foreign policy became one of the most famous American Presidents, after his assassination.
