Helen McCrory

Helen McCrory is an award winning English actress who plays Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter films. She is also famous for her appearance in Hugo (2011) and the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall. She became much familiar to her fans in 2013, when she began playing the character Polly Gray on the TV series Peaky Blinders. McCrory grew up in Paddington, west London on 17th August 1968.


Her mother was Anne Morgan who was a Welsh, and her father was Lain McCrory who worked as a diplomat in Scotland. She was the first child of her parents. She went to the Queenswood which is a boarding school at Hertfordshire. She had been in Italy for a year after this.

After returning to London, she went to the Drama Centre in London to pursue her further studies with acting. Helen’s achievement began when she won the 3rd place at the prestigious awards known as Lan Charleson Awards in 1993 for her best performance as Rose Trelawny. She played Rose in the movie Trelawny of the ‘Wells’. Initially, she started her acting career from the theatre in the United Kingdom.

In the year 2002, Helen has also received nominations in the London Evening Standard Theatre Award in the category of Best Actress. She had played a lead role in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya in the character of Elena. Helen was also seen as Rosalind in the famous play As You Like It by William Shakespeare. She enhanced many movies with her glamorous appearance, like, Charles II: The Power and The Passion, as Barbara Villiers, Countess of Castlemaine, and in supporting roles in such films as Interview with the Vampire, Charlotte Gray, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Casanova.

Helen also appeared in The Queen as Cherie Blair. Helen’s personal life had many ups and downs. Rufus Sewell and Helen enjoyed a significantly long relationship. The two even appeared together in Manchester for the movie ‘Pride and Prejudice’. But later they broke up. Before having tied the knot Helen also dated Murray, an English actor who is her second boyfriend.

Later on 4 July 2007, Helen married actor Damian Lewis. She has a daughter, Manon, and a son, Gulliver. Both of them live in north London. She is also noted for being an honorary patron of the London children's charity Scene & Heard. Helen played lead roles in “Old Times", "How I Learnt to Drive" and in "Twelfth Night" which succeeded in New York and London.

She is also the founder of the famous production company known as "The Public" in partnership with Michael Sheen, where they produced new work in the The Ambassadors, the Donmar and the Liverpool Everyman. She has received many awards and also got nominated for some. Another feather in Helen's crown was, when she got the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to drama. Presently she is leading a happy life and is also working. Her net worth, due to her dedication to acting is worth $75 million.
