Francis D'Souza

Francis D'Souza is known as a Canadian news anchor for the City network channel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since the show was created in 2011, D'Souza has anchored the early evening newscast.


Background

Francis experienced childhood as a young boy in the city of Mississauga, Francis is an alum of Ryerson University's Radio and Television Arts program.

Career

Before joining the City network, Francis was an anchor with CTV in Northern Ontario and hosted Plugged In! on Rogers Television.

Francis has been an unmistakable face at the City network for over 10 years. He started as the Weekend Anchor in 2002 and is presently in a double role of Citynews Anchor and Senior Manager. His live coverage work during Toronto's G20 Summit was praised and recognized with a Gemini Award for best breaking news reporting in 2011.

He has reported about many federal, provincial and municipal elections from live locations across the nation of Canada. He has given audiences national live coverage of the Calgary floods. He was there for the race of Pope Francis in Rome and in London during The Great Kate Wait as people anticipated the birth of a Royal infant. He is admired by his fans for his modern takes on top issues.
