Breanna Stewart

Breanna Mackenzie Stewart was born on August 27, 1994 in Syracuse, New York, where she leved with family the most part of her life. Her parents are Brian and Heather Stewart. She also has siblings, including younger brother named Connor. Along with her brother, she played basketball since the age of 5.


She attended Cicero-North Syracuse High School. With a nickname “Bean”, she played basketball under the leadership of the coach Eric Smith. She has made her very first dunk during the game against Baldwinsville team at school. Thanks to her excellent physical abilities, she was ahead of her peers and entered the road of professional sports before others.

At the age of 14, she was selected and joined the USA Basketball U16 team and was the youngest team member. With her brilliant skills she helped the team win the gold medal in the First FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women, which was in Mexico. She continued her youth career with the USA team and joined the U17 team.

In the 2010 her team won eight games and the gold medal in the FIBA U17 World Championship for Women. The next year she was selected to be on the USA U19 team. In the 2011, after high school she enrolled in the University of Connecticut. Playing there, she scored a total of 169 points during her fresh-man year.

In the 2015 she was a member of the USA Women's Team and played at the Pan American Games which was in Toronto, Canada. She started her professional basketball career in the 2016, when she was drafted first overall in the 2016 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm. She was an excellent player for the team and was effective as a defender because of her long wingspan. During her first season, she got the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award as well as broke the WNBA record for most defensive rebounds in a season.

Additionally to her career way with the Seattle Storm, she signed a deal with Shanghai Baoshan Dahua team of the WCBA for the 2016–17 off-season. According to her playing career stats, she is a very successful and talented player. For her just begun career in professional basketball, she already managed to get many titles and beat more than one record. Brianna is created for sports she excellently works in a team and maneuvers, bypassing opponents. Breanna was selected as a member of the 2012 McDonald's All-American team she also was selected to the 2012 Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
