Sam Champion is a weather anchor and a television host. In his early years of his career, Champion worked at WPSD TV in Paducah and later joined WJKS (renamed WCWJ) in Jacksonville. IN the year 1988, he joined WABC TV’s Eyewitness News. This development came as a turning point in his career. His popularity became large and did spread far and wide. Sam Champion had a brief scare when he was detected with, ‘Basal Cell Carcinoma,’ a type of skin cancer. He suffered several traumatic bouts of the disease. It was treated and later removed from his skin in May 2010. The disease had a grave impact upon Champion and later he took active part in raising awareness about the deadly disease at programmes organised during the Cancer Awareness Month.
Sam Champion got engaged to his long term partner, Rubem Robierb, on October 5, 2012. The couple solemnised their wedding on December 21, 2012.
