Ronn Moss, popularly known by his character’s name Ridge Forrester from the iconic soap opera The Bold and Beautiful is an acclaimed musician, vocalist, songwriter and actor. Although, Ronn was predominantly a musician, much of his fame can be credited to his appearance the Bold and Beautiful alongside an ensemble cast, which included Kim Matula, Heather Tom and Scott Clifton. Ronn Moss was born as Ronald Montague Moss on the 4th of March, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. He spent most of his young and adult life in LA and also graduated from the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From an early age, Moss was heavily exposed to rock n roll music, theatre and concerts.
He learned to play a variety of instruments when he was just 11 years old. As he grew older, he formed a band with fellow musicians J.C. Crowley, John Friesen and Peter Beckett. He was the lead vocalist and the band was called Player. Their music soon garnered the likes of Robert Stigwood who made them sign with his record company, RSO records. Ronn’s band performed various hit songs and slowly they started gaining followers worldwide.
The popularity combined with his striking good looks made Ronn to draw attention from CBS. They approached him and signed him up to play the vivacious fashion mogul Ridge Forrester in their soap The Bold and Beautiful. This role made Ronn’s popularity surge all over the world.
In 2012, after starring in the show for 25 years, the actor sent shockwaves amongst his fans by making an announcement to quit the show. Post his Bold and beautiful days, Ronn has been focusing more towards music. The handsome star has been married twice. His first marriage was with Shari Shattuck and the couple has two children. CAREER:
After signing with RSO records the Ronn’s band released their first single titled Baby Come back which proved to be a smashing hit. It was placed No.1 on all the pop charts. Their band was given the honor of being named Top New Singles artist by the Billboard. The second single titled This Time I'm in it for Love, also garnered wide acclaim.
The band has a very unique acclaim of being the only band comprising of white artists to have been played in radio stations run by the blacks. They pioneered this new genre called Blue Eyed Soul. Besides starring in Bold and the beautiful, the actor has also starred in several movies such as Hard Ticket to Hawaii etc. He appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2010 and finished second.
